Kim Liên Kim Liên is a large village and commune in the Nam Đàn district of Nghe An province in Vietnam. Kim Lien is the childhood home of former president Ho Chi Minh and his parent's house there is the site of the Kim Liên museum.〔''Lonely Planet Vietnam'' Nick Ray, Yu-Mei Balasingamchow, Iain Stewart 2009 p202〕 The village is also called Sen.〔The Vietnam review 1996 p430 "In a 1968 letter to Ninh Viết Giao, Vuang Thúc Oánh, a nephew of Vuong Thúc Luang's and Phan's son-in-law, notes that the play was first performed in a village named Sen (also known as Kim Liên, Ho Chi Minh's birthplace) the year following"〕 ==History== The name of the village means "Gold-Lilly", and the district "South-Sandalwood" in Sino-Vietnamese characters (南檀, 金莲).
